A Bright Future: NiteHawk Installs 100% LED Lighting

Our facility in Kent, Washington has been developing more efficient and sustainable lighting systems in our facilities for six years. Beginning in 2015, we opted into a credit program with our power company–Puget Sound Energy–and equipped our entire interior facility with LED bulbs. This is one of the sustainability initiatives that helped us reduce our carbon
footprint by 180,764 pounds of CO2 every year.

In recent years there have been major improvements in the durability and longevity of exterior LED equipment. As of this year, we can proudly say we are 100% LED-powered. All exterior facilities, including parking lots, product test stations, and transport areas are equipped exclusively with LED lights!

But we’re not stopping there. We are currently testing a new, high-output LED system in our welding and fabrication area, conducting lumen and cost analyses to determine efficiency and create the best workspace for our welders.

High-powered LED lighting makes all areas of our property safer for employees and visitors. Proper lighting is of particular concern during darker winter months, when the Pacific Northwest gets as little as 8 hours of daylight.

We are committed to running a safe facility with minimal energy use and environmental impact.
